Our story
Why we're building Amicare.
Amicare was born out of a deeply personal journey. Our founder, Martin Droruga, became a caregiver as a teenager while supporting a terminally ill loved one. The stress, heartbreak, and lack of accessible support left a lasting impact — and planted the seed for something better.
After immigrating to Canada, Martin joined pandemic response teams helping long-term care facilities reduce viral spread. It became clear: families were overwhelmed, caregivers were under strain, and the existing systems weren't built to keep up.
These moments of both loss and service revealed a truth — care needs to be more human, more flexible, and more accessible. That truth became Amicare.

A referral should never disappear
Whoever sends a referral deserves to know what happened to it, and the patient deserves to know too.

Each organization signs in to its own portal and sees only the referrals sent to it, and every action is recorded.
