Why We Built Amicare
Amicare was born out of a deeply personal journey. Our founder, Martin Droruga, became a caregiver as a teenager while supporting a terminally ill loved one. The stress, heartbreak, and lack of accessible support left a lasting impact — and planted the seed for something better.
After immigrating to Canada, Martin joined pandemic response teams helping long-term care facilities reduce viral spread. It became clear: families were overwhelmed, caregivers were under strain, and the existing systems weren’t built to keep up.
These moments of both loss and service revealed a truth — care needs to be more human, more flexible, and more accessible. That truth became Amicare.
